About
Four products, tested by people who walk
Loftstead is a small operation in Scottsdale, Arizona. We keep the catalog at four items so each one gets the attention a wider range would spread thin.
We started in 2019 because the gear a walking player actually needs kept getting worse in the ways that matter and better in the ways that photograph well.
Carry bags gained pockets and lost balance. Rangefinders gained modes and lost lock speed. Travel covers gained branding and kept the same wheels that snap off on the second trip. None of that shows up in a product listing, and all of it shows up on the course.
So the catalog is short on purpose. Four products, each one specified against a real complaint, tested through a full season, then held at that spec until something genuinely better exists. When we cannot improve an item, we restock it unchanged rather than repackage it.
What we do not do
We do not run countdown timers, invent list prices to discount against, or add badges to make a product look scarce. The price you see is the price charged at checkout, and when an item is on sale the original list price is shown next to it with a plain strikethrough so you can judge the difference yourself.
We do not sell customer data, and we do not ask you to create an account to buy a putter. Checkout runs on Stripe, card details never reach our servers, and your address is passed to the payment once rather than stored in a profile.
Where things come from
Bags and travel covers are cut and sewn by a partner factory we have used since 2019. Putter heads are milled in the United States from 303 stainless bar stock. The rangefinder optic is assembled to our spec with the slope switch on the outside of the housing, which is the part tournament officials need to see.
Everything ships from our own facility in Scottsdale, so the person who packs your order works for us and can be reached at support@loftstead.com.

Contact usHow a product gets made
01
Specify
Every product starts as a written spec, not a sample from a catalog. Weight targets, materials, tolerances and failure points are agreed before anyone builds anything.
02
Test on foot
Prototypes go to players who walk at least 36 holes a week. They carry, drop, soak and fly with the gear for a full season before we sign anything off.
03
Fix what broke
The bag harness went through four revisions. The travel cover was rebuilt after sewn wheel mounts failed on a return flight. Nothing ships until the failure point moves somewhere acceptable.
04
Hold the spec
Once a product works, the spec is frozen and restocked. We do not release a new version to fill a seasonal slot on a shelf.
